Breastfeeding
Target Audience
This seminar is intended for maternity nurses, labor and delivery
nurses, NICU nurses, childbirth educators, breastfeeding counselors
or anyone working with lactating women.
Course Content
1. The Big Six of Assessment - Discuss the process of assessing
the nursing dyad
2. Protecting the Milk Supply - State ways to protect the milk supply
3. Problems with Latch - Identify problems with latch
4. Barriers to Breastfeeding - Identify barriers to breastfeeding
Program Hours: 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
Continuing Education Credit
This course is taught by a nurse educator who is an international
board certified lactation consultant with over twenty years experience
in lactation management. Our faculty is dedicated to quality continuing
education for nurses by meeting or exceeding the competencies and
program guidelines for perinatal education as determined by AWHONN.
