RECERTIFICATION

Keeping your CCE, CBC, CD, CIME, CLSS and CPFI certification current

Recertification through PCE maintains your status as a certified childbirth educator (CCE), certified breastfeeding counselor (CBC), certified doula (CD), certified labor support specialist (CLSS), certified infant massage instructor/educator (CIME) or certified prenatal/postnatal fitness instructor (CPFI). Other benefits of certification maintenance include educational opportunities and remaining on the "Perspective" newsletter mailing list.

Recertification for CCE, CIME, CD or CLSS requires either proof of attendance to any other PCE program or proof of 18 hours of recognized continuing education credit related to maternal child health.

Recertification for CBC requires proof of 18 hours of recognized continuing education credit related to lactation and maternal child health; at least 6 hours must be related to lactation.

Recertification for CPFI requires proof of 18 hours of recognized continuing education credit related to maternal child health and exercise; at least 6 hours must be related to exercise.

If you are unable to meet the educational requirements necessary for recertification, there are educational packets available for a processing fee of $75 each. These educational tools provide 8 ceu's and will satisfy the educational requirements necessary for recertification. Each packet consists of 6 articles to read and then answering a few questions about each article.

Recertification fee is $40 for every 3 year period.
