Recertification - Childbirth Educator
PCE certification is valid for 3 years. Applicant must acquire 18 contact hours of continuing education credit related to obstetrics to receive recertification and maintain the designation of CCE.
Recertification - Breastfeeding Counselor
PCE certification is valid for 3 years. Applicant must obtain 18 contact hours of continuing education credit in obstetrics with at least 6 contact hours relating to lactation in order to receive recertification and maintain the designation of CBC.
Recertification - Infant Massage
PCE certification is valid for 3 years. Applicant must acquire 18 contact hours of continuing education credit related to obstetrics to receive recertification and maintain the designation of CIME.
Recertification - Prenatal/Postnatal Fitness Instructor
PCE certification is valid for 3 years. Applicant must obtain 18 contact hours of continuing education credit in obstetrics and/or fitness with at least 6 contact hours relating to fitness in order to receive recertification and maintain the designation of CPFI.
Recertification - Labor Doula or Labor Support Specialist
PCE certification is valid for 3 years. Applicant must acquire 18 contact hours of continuing education credit related to obstetrics to receive recertification and maintain the designation of CD or CLSS.
If you are unable to meet the educational requirements necessary for recertification, there are educational packets available for a processing fee of $75 each. These educational tools will satisfy the educational requirements necessary for recertification. Each packet consists of 6 articles to read and then answer post questions about each article.
Recertification fee is $45 for every 3 year period, as of January
15th, 2009.
