Philosophy
Prepared Childbirth Educators, Inc. is a national organization of nurse educators. The goal of PCE certification is to recognize excellence in the nurse's specialty role, and contribute to the nurses' professional development. Prepared Childbirth Educators follows the core competencies, evidence-based standards and guidelines for perinatal education as supported by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).
PCE's certification is the gold standard in childbirth education, and the only certification for nurses only. All PCE certifications are on the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) inclusion list of accepted national certifications regarding Magnet status.
